Riccardo Bagnoli • Pringles Advert
The artist who created this image is Italian photographer Riccardo Bagnoli, who specialised in advertising, fashion and portrait photography. This is an image that has been created as an advert for 'Pringles', this images is very obviously photo manipulated and that is what makes the image work. In this image we see a well dressed man who by breathing fire is powering the hot air balloon, we see that he is flying this over a city landscape which ties in nicely with how the man is presented to us (smartly dressed) as though he was working or living in the city that we see below. In the bottom left corner we see the logo 'Hot&Spicy' which helps to give a lot of context to this out of the ordinary image that we see, by there being the logo this helps us to make the very important connection that the company wants us to. When looking at this image the first thing that jumps out at us is the man breathing fire and the big hot air balloon, due to the scale of it compared to everything else in the scene, he is shown to be at the foreground of the image another thing that makes the subject stand out is the contrasting colours used; the quite dull, cold and moody background with the hot and bright fire. I also believe that the cold and dull colours help to set a mood that reflects the city below. I think that this image is showing that the Pringles bring excitement and fun because they stand out and break away from the dreariness that comes along with the office life.
